ooc; pardon the shortness; this is continued from a longer post
Risingmoon's bad mood continued to radiate from her fur as she stalked to the entrance of the leader's den. There she paused, taking a breath and containing her anger. "May we enter?" she asked shortly, glancing back to make sure Winter was behind her and checking to see if anyone else had followed.

ooc: not sure to what thread your referring to...
ic: Shorewind had been grooming her paws which had a sour tang to them after she had patrolled through the pine nettle covered forest floor earlier that day, when a voice distracted her. He sat up more appropriately and meowed her consent for Risingmoon and whomever was behind her to enter. She could sense something in the she-cats voice...urgency? maybe possibly even contempt? The young calico put on her normal nonchalant face and flicked her ears to the sides, raising her chin slightly to give off more of an air of authority- young as she was, she was still a wisoned leader. at least she was in her mind...ready to tackle whatever situation was about to be thrown at her 'yes? you may enter...' she meowed curtly

"A loner would like to join the Clan," Risingmoon said, dipping her head politely. She knew that most cats didn't respect even the leader, but she held on to Clanner customs. She had loved ShadowClan, but she shed those tears silently. Now she had something much better than that old Clan. She had the position of medicine cat. Her past mistakes were forgotten. But what good is medicine cat if no one respects the position? It didn't matter, anyway. She loved the scents of the herbs and the connection with StarClan. But she hadn't been feeling that connection lately. Has StarClan forgiven me? she pondered, but then forced her thoughts back to Winter and Shorewind. "This is Winter." She flicked her long tail towards the loner tom.

Shorepaw's yellow eyes peered past Risingmoon towards this new cat; silently sizing the tom up where was he found?' she meowed, not yet addressing the loner. Before she would pass judgement on the cat, she would try to catch what mood her medicine gave off as she relayed the story; if the clan members didn't approve of him, than the young leader was not about to jeopardize her image by taking in an unliked cat to her already unliked clan...

OOC: I thought it was Shorewind, Kash, not Shorepaw.
Winter raised his chin and boldly mewed "I used to be in Old ShadowClan, but they a bunch of flea bitten cowards, so I became a loner. When I heard the news of New ShadowClan, I thought that this clan might not be as bunch of wimps as the Old one." Winter continued, haughtily, "Don't get me wrong, I'm not begging to be in your clan, but I think you might need help rebuilding.." Winter smirked inwardly, he could feel the leader's anger at his attitude.

Risingmoon glanced sideways at the tom. She pretended that he hadn't spoke as she answer her leader's question with discipline and politeness. "He entered our camp and Sunsweet-" it was all she could do know to growl as she spoke that name "-and I were talking. He asked about the Clan and we told him how we had chased the weaklings out of the place. He wanted to join, and so I took him to you. Several other cats were out and agreed that he would be an asset to the Clan." She knew to put a positive spin on the whole thing and make it clear that other cats approved of the tom. She flicked her ears when she had finished speaking, as if to signify that she was done with her brief story.

ooc: its a bad sign when the roleplayer doesnt even know what their own characters' names are...thanks for catching that for me
ic: Shorewind flicked her tail listening to all of this. The fact that Winter seemed to dislike the old shadowclan was what caught her attention. she looked again at the loner, narrowing her eyes. She ignored the last statement- though there was definite truth in the statement, the calico didn't like the tone in which the loner spoke, as though he were dancing around making an insult to her clan. She flicked her ears and tipped her head to the side so her ear was more focused on the tom before her and meowed "What makes you think you would be a valuable asset to this clan?"

OOC: No problem. I've been on this site long enough, before you changed your name to Rex. Not to brag or anything.
Winter smirked contemptuously. "Well, like I said before, your clan is rebuilding. You suffered a loss of numbers after driving out Old ShadowClan. You could use a set of claws. I'm a young warrior with battle experience, and I can handle an apprentice well. I guess you could say I'm your basic warrior." meowed Winter seriously. "All in all, it's up to you.." purred Winter silkily.

ooc: its not exactly something you can brag about anyway; its like a status thing on facebook or myspace; you can change it whenever you want, and i cant remember if i ever went by just kash as my name there. but i get what you're saying.
ic: Shorewind listened to the loner speak. He seemed very confident in himself, and she didnt really care much for the...almost cocky air the tom presented. this in time will either pass or be accepted. the calico told herself closing her yellow orbs and breathing out. Alright...Winter. She meowed carefully. Rising up from her nest to her full height; Shorewind did not look outstandingly formidable. She was an average size, and from first glance one might assume that she was probably just as average an opponant in battle, but Shorewind knew how to get what she wanted through coy and cunning. It was not typical that she act superior to her clan mates, but now as she padded towards this new cat she glared at him as though daring him to say something that he would regret, or to run from the camp. ...Do you expect me to give you a formal introduction to my clan and beg them to accept you and not to discriminate or anything of the sort, or if its alright with you, would you mind getting out of my way so i can go hunting for my poor hungry dicrepit clan?" There was a certain bitterness in her voice as though she were accusing Winter of making those statements himself. And although it was obvious what Shorewind wanted to do, her ear flicked, indicating that she wanted to hear what the tom would say.

Winter raised his head in a suddenly serious manner. "You may think that I'm just a selfish loner, but don't forget, I was once in a clan." mewed Winter boldly. He dipped his head in respect and walked out of the den, looking to go hunting for his new clan.

Risingmoon watched in silence, for once without anything to add to the battle of scorn. Along with Shorewind's, her annoyance rose at Winter's almost challenging pride, but she knew that the almost-leader would easily be able to deal with such a small problem as attitude. As usual, she found that she was correct and smiled from a side of the cave. She was about to suggest that Winter find someone to show him around when she realized that he had lived in this camp before most of ShadowClan had been chased from it. Deep in her heart, Risingmoon felt a pang of sadness that she ignored - it was simpler to pretend that she was happy than to face the fact that she did not want to be in this retched Clan. Stop thinking like that, she told herself harshly.
