ENGLAND 2007- Big Ben chimes 4 AM in London. Almost no one is around. Five teenagers wander around the streets. Three males and two females walk together. They pass a large school.
you know i can't stay long
The oldest stops. He whispers something to his younger siblings. They stand guard as he jumps the gate. Too quick and quiet for any normal human, he's on the balcony of the school, near a room where a small light is visible. A small girl with dark hair opens her eyes suddenly and sits up slowly. He's here...and he's close. Who 'he' is, she does not know...but she knows his presence.

Jake, Jake wake UP! Her accent is thick with American. Jake! She shakes her little brother.
So you sense him too. he whispers. She nods.

The stranger presses himself to the wall as the girl walks out to the balcony, her brother trailing her.
Too close. They say in unison.
It dawns on him. This girl is his calling; the one who will end up his mate. The brother is a wolf... a young one who does not recognize the scent of a vampire. The girl is a human, but she would only remain so for a little longer.

The stranger knows she only has a year. His poison won't effect her after that. Yes, this stranger is a vampire. His name?Erik Tomas. The girl is Emmalyn Ryans, her brother Jacob Ryans. The other four are Marlene, Anthony, Stephen and Annabella. They are modern day vampires, feeding on animal blood instead of humans'. Their leader, William, has been living this way for centuries.

Erik is the only one with no mate. Marlene has Anthony, Stephen has Annabella and William has Sally. They have been waiting for Erik to find the one, but now that she is half werewolf, what will they do? Emma, still clueless must choose.
