~Teaching Shadekit the Ropes~

the queen curled her lip in disqust at the acrid scent that filled the air as she passed the brush and stood at the edge of the thunderpath. behind her, her kit cowered behind her white and black pelt.
pushing him away, she told him "you must stop being so clingy, Shadekit."
the kit scoffed and glared at him mother saying "MAW! this place smells baaaad!!"
"I know it does, thats becau-SHADEKIT!! STOP! LOOK OUT!!! she yowled as she darted at her kit and grabbed him out of the way of a monster that flew by, splashing them both in gritty smog. she set her kit down back on the side of the thunderpath in the bushes. "WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?!" she hissed "you cant just do things like that!"

"And you need to stop being to 'Mutha-ee'!" he yowled at her, his eyes still wild from shock

"shadekit, you dont undersetand, you cant just run across the thunderpath, many cats have died on it, one blow from those monsters, and you would have been dead!"

Shadekit looked thoughtful for a minute "it doesnt matter that your a rogue, they will kill you just the same, and they dont even use you as freshkill, they just run off." She continued. "Twolegs..." she began "crawl inside their belly and they run off...twolegs are bad, monsters are bad, and the thunderpath is bad..."

"then why are we here?" demanded the kit calmly
"because, i thought you needed to know how to cross."
"why would i need to cross?"
"to get into shadowclan...from here, or to get away. there arnt many animals that will blindly chase someone across here..."


"so how do we do this?" he asked looking determined to please his mother
exhaling at her kits attentivness, she crouched beside him and checked each direction "first, you check to see if the path is clear. it isnt now, see, theres a monster co--" a Monster zoomed by, forcing her to clse her mouth to avoid the fumes getting in her mouth "*cough* umm...yes...now its clear. its best to cross in pairs"
From beside her, Shadekit was hacking a bit of grit out of his mouth. "ugh.. im gonna need a good wash after this..." he murmored
"pay attention!" she snapped "on three...okay?"

shadekit nodded
"one...two...three!!" on her mark, the two cats raced across the dark path.
Shadekits paws stung, but he didnt dare to stop.

The two finally made it to the other side, and soon after another monster passed by. "that was scary" admitted the kit

the queen looked down fondly at her son. he would make a fine, strong rogue one day. one that everyone would be proud of, she was certain.
"so, Shadekit..." she began. the kit looked up at her, his gray eyes wide "welcome to Shadowclan..."

Darkheart came up from the ShadowClan side ((Oops... Border-crossing!)), and stopped dead in his tracks when he saw them. "Hello, are you teaching Shadekit how to cross?" he asked. "Very important!" he told his kit. He walked up to the edge of the path and waited. There was a moment's pause, and he dashed across to the other side and waited for the others.

Pandapelt shot Darkheart a loving glance as she watched the black tom race across the Thunderpath "Fightpicking again?" she called to him from the other side. "heh." she mewed "come on shadekit, lets cross again, and this ti-"

"But i wanted to explore ShadowClan! now that we're here!"

Pandapelt shook her head at him and looked at her mate with an amused expression "well the coast is clear now we'd better go"
"BUT!..." he demanded, his fur beginning to bristle
