Mousefire accepted her comment, still gazing at the ruined countryside. They'd be lucky if Highstones hadn't caved in. Surly there was something they could do.....................

Snowstorm's ears flattened against her head as she moved closer to Mousefire, trying to comfort him.
"You seem very disturbed. What's wrong?" she asked quietly.

Oh, nothing, he said, lying his head down as he lay next to Snowstorm. All the...............damage, I guess. He sighed. This had been the best and worst day so far and his life, and he knew he'd have to find a way to fix those parts..................... he moved his head so it was facing Snowstorm. Beautiful Snowstorm......................... he'd need some time for himself in the future, he knew that much. Maybe then he'd have more luck sorting things out.

Snowstorm was begining to get the feeling she did something wrong. She looked down at her paws and sighed.
"Mousefire, did I do something to upset you?" she asked not looking up.

Mousefire looked up confused. "No, of course not!" he said, flicking his tail at a stray fly. "How would you have upset me? You didn't do anything!"

Snowstorm looked at him and sighed.
"You remember my sister Snowpetal right? Well I am supposed to take Nightkit in two days and look at this place.. " she paused her tail drooping. "And I thought that since you knew that maybe you wouldn't like that idea.."

Snowstorm sighed.
"Snowpetal can't take care of him properly, and he doesn't listen to her. He says he wants me but, I don't want to take all her family from her like I was taken from them. But I don't have any other choice they're both forcing on me, and I want him here but I don't want to cause trouble for anyone, especially you."

I don't see why it would trouble me, he replied, resting his head own and sighing. A bubble of curiosity welled up inside him, but he pushed it down. It wasn't his business to delve into her private stuff.

"Not much," he replied. "Why should I pry apart your business? It's certainly not mine......." His stomach ached, he guessed it was from hunger,bu he wasn't sure.

"You wanna go hunt?" he asked suddenly. No wonder it hurt, the sun was already starting to set, and the last he'd eaten was that morning. He shook his pelt, the dull sunlight mixing with his amber eyes.
