It was time. Cinderheart's paws shook as she padded to and fro beneath the tree. The dream had certainly been a shock to her system. All of a sudden she was thinking of hundreds of things she wanted to do before she died and then scolding herself with reasons why she shouldn't do them. This was the top priority on her mental list, though - giving her two apprentices full Medicine Cat names. She had asked them to meet her here, and now, pacing in front of the tree, she had to breath deeply to steady herself.
It was time to pass on the responsibility she'd held for so long. They will do a wonderful job, she thought with joyful sadness.

Emberpaw trotted up to Cinderheart. She had felt happy, but now she frowned. There was something upseting her mentor, she could tell. But that meant nothing, except for her to be cheerful today, and not upset Cinderheart more with her own problems.
"Hi Cinderheart." she meowed, flashing her mentor a shy admiring glance. "Willowpaw isn't here yet?"

Willowpaw ran swiftly, as fast as she could, through the forest. She was late and she knew it. Hopefully, she wouldn't be in trouble. She finally reach Emberpaw and Cinderheart, out of breathe, and she smiled. "Sorry I'm late." She meowed. "I was cleaning out the Elders den and lost track of time." She purred sitting down next to Emberpaw.

Cinderheart's thought were racing. It wasn't normal - she was usually calm and decided. Now she was unsure. She was certain she had understood the meaning of the dream, but how much could she tell her apprentices? If she told them that... they would panic. She simply couldn't. Just pretend that nothing is wrong. Of course. It was best. She set a smile on her muzzle and sat in front of the two, flicking her tail for them to sit as well. Now that she had decided, she would go through with it.
"A night ago, I received a dream from StarClan. Now, you both understand the issues with there being two medicine cat apprentices. I was beginning to worry that I would have to name one of you, not both, as full medicine cats. But our warrior ancestors saw a better way. You both have shown me your courage while dealing with sickness, your knowledge while dealing with herbs, your care while dealing with others, and your faith while dealing with StarClan. I know that you are both ready."
She waited for any responses the two would have, blinking from one to the other.

Emberpaw looked at Cinderheart, her curiousity overiding her shyness.
"So we're both going to be medicine cats? At the same time?" she asked, an underlaying current of excitement in her voice. If that was true, her and Willowpaw would be the first.

"Yes. For a sho-- for a while, there will be three medicine cats. Usually there is two; a mentor and just-named apprentice. Now there will be me and the both of you." She hid her slip-up with a smile and a brief, proud purr. Hopefully the apprentices wouldn't understand what she was implying: she would not be alive much longer. She herself knew that it was time to go to StarClan. She had seen the leaders and medicine cats of all the other Clans change once or twice each, and now it was time for younger talent to continue her valuable work. It would be hard, and she would watch from StarClan as Willowmoon and Embersight grew wiser and older. This was what had to happen. Cinderheart let her purr grow louder as she looked over her apprentices.

Emberpaw noticed Cinderheart's slip, but did not think on it, simply assuming her mentor had wanted to chose a different word. Not that she cared; she was much too happy with Cinderheart's praise to think about it more than a second.
Cinderheart didn't truly praise them much, and when she did, it was always with words. As she had purred this time, and not in amusement, Emberpaw felt extremly happy; she could float about now.
Her mentor was the closest to a mother she had, as her mother had died right before her apprentice ceremony, and then Cinderheart took care of her, so it meant a lot that Cinderheart was proud of her, or happy for her, whichever.
OOC: And unless Dreamy has anything important to say, off we go to the ceremony.

OOC: we should definitely wait for Dreamy! Then she tells them their names. After that, they go to the Moonstone.

OOC: but you stuck the words on, right? Dreamy, can you post at least a couple lines about how Willowpaw's reacting? I'm not sure how I'll describe her.
Cinderheart nodded. She turned first to Emberpaw. The apprentice was elated, it seemed. Beyond happy. Overjoyed. It warmed the old medicine cat's heart to see someone so truly joyful about anything. Cinderheart remembered her own naming - the medicine cat who had taught her died only two moons later, but the happiness of the ceremony was still fresh in Cinderheart's memory. Smiling at her older apprentice, she spoke. "Emberpaw, you have learned as much as I can teach you. You know your herbs and have a strong connection with StarClan. From now on, they have blessed you with the name Embersight. With your flame-orange eyes, you will always be able to see your path and find your way." She reached toward Embersight to touch noses before she turned toward Willowpaw.

Embersight half nodded, and stepped back. For a second, her eyes were red, a fiery burning red that could see through everything and everyone.
Then they turned back into their normal, pretty blue color, and she turned to look at Willowpaw. It was her turn now...

- - Nope. I just stumbled across it like this and I've been making Hawkfrost in my charecters every since. - -
Willowpaw purred to Embersight in congrats as she watched the she-cats eyes change colors. The light of the moon shinned onto to Willowpaw's pelt, turning it brighter than ever before. Her green optics glanced up to the moon before she looked back to Cinderheart, wondering if StarClan would ever accept her for being who she was, for falling in love with Emeraldblaze. For carrying his kits. No one knew, not even Emeraldblaze knew. She would never tell her embaressing secret to anyone, not even Cinderheart.

Cinderheart already knew what Willowpaw's name would become. As the apprentice glanced at the sky, Cinderheart became even more sure. The moon was glittering off the young cat's pelt. It wasn't quite the show that Embersight's eyes had been - but then, Cinderheart had always seen the fire in her older apprentice's gaze. "Willowpaw, you are meticulously careful when you heal and our ancestors have blessed you with kindness when you help others. May the moon guide you if you ever need it, and may it always light your pelt as it is doing now. Willowmoon will be your name from this day on." Cinderheart wasn't sure what Willowmoon was thinking, but didn't pry - it was important to let these things stay secret.
